Assembling the box

The front and rear walls are placed on the end edges and alternately fastened with the side strips (350x70 mm). The top of the drawer consists of two slats (250x25 mm). They are fastened with nails and glue so that there is a gap of about 20 mm between them.
The bottom of the box is made folding so that it is possible to remove correspondence. To do this, two furniture hinges are screwed to the long edge of the plank, opposite side The straps are attached to a small corner loop for a post lock. Then the furniture hinges are connected to the back wall, the bottom is closed, and at the level of the lock loop, a second eye is attached to the front wall.
To prevent rain and snow from falling into the gap of the mailbox from above, a protective plate is cut out of tin and installed.
