In dachas, cottages, and recreation areas, plastic pools are used because they are practical and easy to use. But their installation requires compliance with all technical requirements. A plastic pool is installed in closed pavilions, in the open air, in a bathhouse or sauna. And also indoors in a private home.

The advantages of such a pool.

Plastic pools are resistant to ultraviolet rays. They do not lose their color when installed in an open area, when they are exposed to the sun throughout the summer season. The design of the pool is seamless, which gives high strength to the bowl, which is made of polypropylene plastic up to 1 cm thick. Plastic pools are resistant to various chemicals used to clean the pool bowl.

Pool structures.

Plastic pool bowls most of used for indoor spaces and pavilions, since in the open air it is necessary to carry out preventive purification of the water and the walls of the bowl more often. Such a pool is installed in closed polycarbonate pavilions. This design protects the pool from leaves and branches from nearby bushes and trees. Such structures can be stationary, removable or sliding.

Installing a pool bowl

The soil under the pool bowl must be stable. First, you need to forge a pit that exceeds the size of the pool bowl by 79-86 cm. At the bottom of the pit, a strong cushion of gravel is made, which is covered with sand. This backfill is carefully compacted and a reinforcing screed is poured. It is important to maintain the level of the plane of the bottom of the pit. When the prepared base has dried well, the pool bowl is installed on it using special lifting equipment. After installing the bowl, install the rest of the necessary equipment for proper operation of the pool. The final stage is pouring reinforcing concrete from the outside of the bowl walls. It is imperative to fill the pool with water during this type of work so that internal and external pressure is evenly created on the walls of the bowl. Now they begin to decorate the room in which the pool is installed. For flooring must be used ceramic tiles or porcelain stoneware.

We have all often seen on television rich villas, which always have swimming pools in which the inhabitants of the villa and their guests splash. It seems that having your own swimming pool is a luxury for very few. In fact, there are many ways to install a swimming pool at your dacha, depending on your taste, the size of the site and financial capabilities. It is necessary to install a pool even if there is a lake or river near your dacha. Since childhood, we love to bathe and swim in the river, but a pool has a number of advantages compared to a natural body of water.

The first thing to note is the proximity to home. You don’t have to get ready, close the house, go with your things to the river, and then back. Your pond is located right in your yard, you can take a dip at any time. The second advantage is the purity of the water, which you yourself will replace or simply purify when you see fit. And the third is sanitary safety, because you don’t have to swim in the same water with many animals and birds that come to the water or live in it. Now you understand that no matter how good the river and lake are, you still need to have a pool at your dacha.

If you are convinced of the need to have your own pool and want to purchase it, then you need to know that there is a very wide variety of pools for your summer cottage. We will describe to you different types pools, with their positive properties and difficulties, we’ll tell you which one is right for you, and we’ll explain how to install it yourself.

The most affordable type of pool is inflatable

For the manufacture of inflatable pools, double PVC film is used. A cover is made from the film, which just needs to be inflated, like a rubber boat. There are children's pools and larger ones for adults. Children's hoops are made from several inflatable hoops, one above the other, with a flat bottom made of double film. Pools for adults have only one inflatable hoop at the top edge of the pool. The walls and bottom are made of double film and straighten themselves and take the desired shape when the pool is filled with water. The water needs to be changed as it becomes dirty, but some models are available with a filter, thanks to which the water remains clean for a long time. Inflatable pools are convenient for small areas, since they are usually no more than 5 m in diameter, and the depth is small - approximately 0.5 ÷ 1.2 m.

Installing an inflatable pool is very simple. Choose the most level area and lay out your pool on it. Using a regular pump, inflate the hoops as indicated in the instructions for the pool and fill with water.

Frame pool models - easy to assemble and disassemble

Frame models are so called because they are based on a reliable frame, which determines the shape and size of the pool. Inside the frame there is a cover made of PVC film. When the pool is filled with water, the cover straightens and takes on the shape specified by the frame. That's why general principle all frame models are created, the only difference is in the frames themselves, which come in two types: rod, consisting of rods that are connected to each other, and sectional, made of sections of sheet material.

Pool based on a rod frame

This pool can be assembled very easily by yourself, without the help of a specialist. The PVC film case has special “sleeves” and grooves for attaching horizontal rods and vertical posts. The instructions for the pool describe in detail how to install them. Then carefully level the entire structure on a flat area. A pipeline with a pump and filter must be attached to the pool. It needs to be screwed into holes specially designed for this purpose in the case. With the help of a pump, it will be easy for you to pump water into the pool, and the filter will prevent the possibility of debris getting into the swimming water.

Pool based on a sectional frame.

The frame of such a pool is made up of separate sections fastened together. A PVC film cover is stretched inside the frame. Sections can be metal or plastic. Sections can be made in a variety of shapes and materials, which allows manufacturers to produce sectional pools of any shape: round, oval, rectangular. You can also experiment with depth. Pools can be either traditional, with the same depth along the entire length, or unusual, with varying depth, like a natural reservoir. The depth in one pool can vary from 1.2 to 2.4 m. In such a reservoir you can swim and dive perfectly.

Assembling the rolled pool frame is very easy. You need to unroll the roll, carefully install the sections according to the design of the pool, and fasten them with screws or other fasteners provided for this model.

After installing the sections, a PVC film cover is pulled over the resulting frame. The cover is made very durable, its seams are sealed with electric welding. Then, following all the manufacturer’s recommendations, the pipeline, pump with filter and all additional equipment supplied with the model being installed are installed.

Unlimited possibilities of plastic pools

If the size of your plot allows you to install a large pool, then a plastic pool is perfect for you. They are made in various configurations.

There are also any sizes, up to the largest ones, the volume of which reaches 9000 liters!

This is where you can swim to your heart's content with a whole group and even play water games. If you wish, you can have a hydromassage or aeromassage system installed, then you will not need to go to the SPA salon - it is near your home. We offer you, as an example, photographs of plastic swimming pools installed in dachas.

As you can see, this type of pool is usually buried in the ground. Since this is a labor-intensive process, it is better to invite workers with special equipment.

Creating a foundation for a plastic pool

First of all, you need to dig a pit. The dimensions of the pit in depth and on the sides should be 1 m larger than the pool itself. 15 - 20 cm of a mixture of gravel and sand is poured onto the bottom, compacted and leveled. Reinforcing mesh is placed on top of this layer. Then the concrete is poured. The result is a foundation 20–25 cm thick. Its dimensions should be 25 cm larger than the dimensions of the pool bottom along the entire perimeter. A high-quality foundation looks like a smooth, solid concrete slab.

Installation and thermal insulation of a plastic pool.

When the slab has hardened and dried, it is covered with geotextiles. Then they begin to insulate the pool. To do this, polystyrene foam 2–3 cm thick is placed on top of the geotextile, and covered with a very dense polyethylene film. Finally, you can install the plastic pool bowl itself. To completely insulate the pool, its external walls are lined with foam and covered with plastic film.

Pouring concrete around the bowl of a plastic pool

To firmly fix the plastic pool bowl, it must be concreted from the outside along its entire contour. To ensure that the side walls of the pool are not damaged and maintain their vertical position, spacers are placed inside the plastic bowl. Then they make formwork with reinforcement along the entire outer contour of the pool.

To avoid damaging the plastic pool, concrete pouring must be done carefully, in several stages. First, water is poured into the pool bowl to a depth of 30–40 centimeters, then concrete is placed in the formwork to the same height. Do this several times, adding water and laying concrete until the entire space between the walls of the pit and the outer contour of the bowl is filled to the level of the ground surface. When the concrete has hardened, you need to remove the formwork, fill the voids with sand and compact it well.

Composite pools - quality and durability

Composite pools are of high quality and have a presentable appearance. These are really good, reliable products. They are made of fiberglass - a very durable material, so they last a long time - up to 20 years. Due to their high quality, composite pools are very popular among residents of dachas and country houses. Composite pools are installed in almost the same way as plastic ones: they dig a pit and install a fiberglass bowl in it.

You can make concrete pools yourself

Concrete pools make it possible to create a unique pond in your dacha. In this type of pool, you are not limited to a ready-made bowl created by the manufacturer. You can design the shape of your pool yourself, and after production, decorate it to your taste. To make it you will need concrete and reinforcement. They are necessary for the construction of a concrete bowl, which is the basis for any concrete pool. There is a certain technology for constructing such pools. It includes several mandatory steps, which we present below.

1. Creation of a pit

They dig a pit in the ground, the dimensions of which (length, width, depth) are 1 m larger than the dimensions of the planned pool. This is necessary for installing formwork and pipes. Crushed stone is poured into the bottom of the pit, compacted and filled with concrete.

2. Reinforcement of the structure

The structure can be reinforced only after the concrete screed has completely hardened. First, the reinforcement is laid out on the concrete bottom of the pit, then fastened to the walls. Special attention it is necessary to pay attention to securing the corners and joints of the walls and bottom, since these places will be subject to the greatest load.

3. Installation of formwork

The shape of the pool being built is determined by the installation of the formwork, so this stage must be treated very carefully and carefully. The embedded parts are fixed in the finished formwork.

4. Pouring the bottom and walls of the pool with concrete

It is possible to concrete the entire pool at one time, but this requires continuous pouring of concrete. It is impossible to perform such work without experience, so you will need the help of a specialist. If you're building a pool yourself, it's best to pour the concrete in stages. First, the bottom of the pool bowl is concreted, then its walls.

5. Finishing the pool surfaces

The most popular type of finishing for swimming pools is tiles. But PVC film has become increasingly used. It covers evenly inner surface pool, and is also available in a very rich range of colors.

6. Equipment assembly

Now you are convinced that in a wide variety of types of pools, you can choose the one that will be most convenient for your dacha, and you can install it yourself. In addition, there are many wonderful and unusual appliances that will add joy to your guests. At a holiday party, special spotlights will make the water in the pool multi-colored. Geysers and fountains will decorate the water surface. For kids, the main thing is fun attractions, so install slides and trampolines for them in the pool. And don’t forget to buy a hydromassage for yourself. And then at your own dacha you will feel better than at an expensive resort.

Plastic pools have become the most popular in Russia due to their reasonable cost and adaptability to the harsh conditions of our homeland. In the first part, we described how. Now let’s look at the smallest details of how the pool bowl is installed.

This article will become a guide for you, with the help of which you can equip an artificial pond on your site.

Selecting a location

The first place any construction begins is choosing a location for any structure. For a future pool, you need to choose an area on your site that meets the following requirements:

  • The area is initially flat. There are no large stones or asphalt.
  • There are no trees or other plantings with a strong root system located nearby. With further development, they can damage the walls and bottom of the pool. Also, leaves will constantly clog the water;
  • The groundwater level should be 20 centimeters or more below the bottom of the tank. To determine the water level, dig a well to a depth equal to the depth of the pool plus 20 cm. If water has not appeared after 2 days, you can build;
  • The supply of water and electricity to the site should not be difficult;
  • There should be no house, garage or parking lot nearby. Keep in mind that splashes can reach up to 3-4 meters.

We carry out calculations

Once you have chosen a suitable location, you can begin making calculations.

You can also install a plastic pool with your own hands in the house itself. But there are no typical cases for installing an indoor pool, so we are considering installing an outdoor pool bowl.

The hole should be dug with a margin of 20 centimeters on each side. The depth should be calculated based on the depth of the pool itself and its base cushion.

The base is installed 20 centimeters thick if the soil is sandy or gravel. If there is clay soil under the pillow, then the thickness of the foundation should be 25 centimeters.

Next, sketch out how the water pipes will be supplied, electrical wires and the reservoir's own communications. Note where the filter will be located, how much space it will take up and how to connect to the bowl.

Pit preparation

After all the calculations have been made, you can get down to business.

To begin, mark the boundaries of the hole on the ground with a shovel or a special spray can. Measure everything again and make sure that no errors were made in the calculations and markings.

You can dig a hole yourself, with a team of workers, or using special equipment. It all depends on your preferences, timing and budget.

Laying the foundation

When the pit is completely ready, all measurements have been taken again and no errors have been found, you can begin laying the foundation for the future bowl.

The first layer of crushed stone is laid in order to level the site. We level it using a flat board with a level attached. Next, we compact this layer with special equipment. If you don’t have this at your disposal, then you can try to stamp it down as tightly as possible.

Some limit themselves exclusively to the first layer, but we strongly do not recommend this, as this will seriously affect the life of the pool.

Next, along the perimeter we prepare formwork for pouring concrete 15-20 centimeters high. The concrete layer can be installed without reinforcement, but if possible, then the extra rigidity of the foundation will not hurt. We pour the foundation and let it dry and completely harden for 3 days.

The third and last layer is polystyrene foam 3-4 centimeters thick. After laying it, you can consider laying the foundation completed successfully.

Installing the bowl

A plastic or composite monolithic bowl is placed on a prepared base with an equal margin on each side.

There are several ways to place the bowl in the hole. It depends on its weight and size. If the bowl is small or medium-sized, then it can be installed with the help of a small but friendly company. Large tanks will require the use of a tap.

Connecting all systems to the bowl

After all communications have been completed, we check all systems for leaks and fill the pool to 10 centimeters.

Strengthening the pool in the soil

When filling the pool, we gradually fill the gap between the bowl and the ground. We need water in the reservoir to maintain pressure from the inside and prevent the bowl from deforming under the weight of the earth.

There is also the option of concreting the side walls of the pool. Water will not be able to compensate for the pressure of concrete from the inside, so they use supports made of wooden beams, as shown in the video below.

We trample down the soil near the walls of the pool to compact it. You can also use a special tamping device, but you need to be careful with it so as not to damage the pipes connected to the bowl.

Thematic videos

Now you know how to install a pool bowl. As you can see, most of the work can be done with your own hands. This significantly saves money on the installation of an artificial reservoir, which is why plastic pools have become so popular in Russia.

In the 3rd part we will tell you and prepare the area around it.

Every summer resident dreams of the early arrival of summer and imagines himself on vacation on sunny, hot days. In order to refresh yourself comfortably in cool water on vacation, you need to take care in advance about building or purchasing a bathhouse. Many owners refuse this idea, considering it too costly and time-consuming. In fact, any novice builder can make a small swimming pool at the dacha with his own hands. You just need to study different ways manufacturing, choose suitable option and follow the instructions step by step.

What available materials can be used to build a country pool?

You can, of course, buy one ready-made from expensive materials and invite a team of installation specialists, but often a modest budget does not allow for large-scale construction. Many summer residents give up, and the pond remains a pipe dream for them. But a thrifty owner will definitely find available and inexpensive materials and independently make a durable and beautiful pool that will last for many years and will become a real decoration of the site.

As you walk around your property, don't miss the following useful materials and things:

How to make a swimming pool at your dacha with your own hands - step-by-step instructions with photos

It is very important to choose a suitable location on the site to install the pool.

The choice of location has been made, now you need to draw a sketch with dimensions and mark the dimensions of the structure with pegs in place, prepare necessary tools.

For any type of pool, it is necessary to make a platform so that the bowl stands level and firmly all season.

Stages of foundation preparation:

  1. Remove the top loose layer of soil with grass, eliminate potholes, uneven areas, remove stones, debris, and uproot protruding roots. If you decide to deepen the bowl, then dig a pit with a reserve of space for the outer lining of the sides.
  2. Level the surface strictly horizontally, pour a small layer of crushed stone, and compact it thoroughly.
  3. If possible, cover with geotextile, which will protect the pool from gnawing by insects and weeds from growing under it, and will also strengthen and level the base.
  4. Pour a sand cushion 10 cm thick, lay insulation or a special polypropylene substrate under the bottom.

Making a pool from pallets

This structure can be built in less than a day and will cost very little.

For work you will need the following tools and materials:

  • old wooden pallets, minimum 9 pieces, depending on the size of the structure. They are made in standard dimensions 80x120 cm;
  • level;
  • roulette;
  • pegs and cord for marking;
  • jigsaw;
  • planer for processing boards;
  • boards;
  • nails;
  • hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • screws,
  • tie straps for fastening pallets into a single frame;
  • film for lining the inside of the bowl;
  • construction stapler;
  • siding or boards for finishing;
  • felt;
  • scotch;
  • antiseptic impregnation;
  • paint and varnish.

Installation steps:

  1. Prepare the site or dig a pit if you want to deepen the pool. Line it with polystyrene foam or other insulation to help the water warm up faster. Place a tarpaulin or mat on top.
  2. Treat all wooden elements with antiseptic and antifungal impregnation to prevent rotting and destruction of the wood.

    Lay out the substrate on the site and begin to mount the pallets sequentially

  3. Place the pallets vertically in a circular shape, with the boarding facing inwards, and knock them together using boards at the top, bottom and middle to form a single frame structure. Reinforce it with tightening straps, clamps or other available materials.

    For reliability, secure the pallet structure using boards and special belts.

  4. Sheathe the inside of the structure with siding, cover it with boards, fill it with sand, and line the inside with waterproofing film.

    Prepare the inside of the pool

  5. Then lay felt or old blankets and towels on the bottom and sides for softness, secure them with tape or a construction stapler.

    Lay out old blankets and towels for softness.

  6. Cover the top sides and bottom of the pool finishing layer film, straighten it. Blue material will look great. Nail the edges from the boards on top, securing and removing all protruding edges and edges. Now you can draw water and check the bowl for leaks.

    Lay a film in the pool and cover the outside with finishing material

Tire pool

First you need to find a larger tire, for example, a BelAZ tire has a diameter of more than 300 cm and a width of more than 95 cm, and prepare the necessary tools and building materials:

This method is the fastest - it allows you to create a budget version of a bathhouse in two hours, which can be installed right in the garden. It should be noted that such an express bowl will serve until the first puncture of the film.

Step-by-step manufacturing instructions:

If necessary, such a reservoir is quickly removed until the next hot season.

Swimming pool made of plastic pipes

There are ready-made prefabricated models of swimming pools on sale, the frame of which is made of PVC pipes, and the bowl is made of thick soft material or also of plastic. This design can be made on your own from pipes left over from repairs or purchased. They are inexpensive and are sold at any hardware store.

To work you will need:

  • PVC fabric, which does not allow water to pass through and is used for making awnings and inflatable boats, it is very durable and is sold in different densities, an excellent solution for a homemade pool;
  • shovel;
  • sand;
  • crushed stone;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • marker;
  • an iron for soldering pipes or a construction hair dryer with a special nozzle for welding film;
